They are responsible for ensuring that their schools and staff have the professional capacity and the appropriate resources to meet provincial and local policies and priorities. Most districts are now offering a full-day kindergarten, a major benefit to working families.School boards, in consultation with their administrators and their school communities, set local policies, priorities, and budgets within the framework of provincial legislation and policy.īoards establish their local budgets within the scope provided by their funding allocation. Preparatory schools include the nationally renown Lawrenceville School, The Hun School of Princeton, the Pennington School and The Peddie School in Hightstown. These institutions and several of the larger public districts offer extensive opportunities for adult and continuing education.
